Women's History Month: Jennifer P. Brown to Speak at Milkweed

Women's History Month Speaker at Milkweed

March is Women’s History Month, and we are excited to offer a special presentation March 28, 2019, at 3 p.m. in the Milkweed Event Room, when we welcome Jennifer P. Brown to speak about important women of Hopkinsville, specifically: “Five Hopkinsville Women Who Deserve Historical Markers.”

Brown has been writing about Hopkinsville for 35 years – first as a reporter and editor for the Kentucky New Era for three decades and more recently as an independent journalist publishing the online news site Hoptown Central. Brown co-chairs the National Advisory Board of the Institute for Rural Journalism and Community Issues at the University of Kentucky, and she is a board member for the Kentucky Historical Society and the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County. She earned the MFA in Creative Nonfiction at Goucher College, Baltimore.
