Milkweed Moisturizer

My skin has always been dry. I’m fair-skinned and affected by all the elements and practically every chemical known to humankind. I have to be very careful what I put on my face. My first step was to stop wearing serious makeup. Then, I started making my own soap. Finally, I created my own moisturizer, and my skin is happy to stay with me for another 40 or 50 years. Milkweed Moisturizer is a simple blend of rosewater, almond oil, and beeswax. The amount of beeswax I put in makes this moisturizer firm to the touch, but as soon as you start rubbing it on your warm skin, it becomes soft and caressing. Since the beeswax is a natural binding agent, I don’t have to use stearic acid or any such emulsification chemicals to bind the rosewater and almond oil together. Almond oil is gentle enough for a baby’s skin and is thought to provide UV protection and vitamins E and A. According to history, the grand lady of Egypt, Cleopatra, used rosewater to cleanse her face and body. It smells so light and lovely.
